Amy's path to children's books has been roundabout. Though she discovered very early on that she loves the creative life of an artist, she lived in a perpetual state of doubt about her abilities. It took getting to age 40 and downloading Procreate to her Ipad to start turning her graphite smudges into something more.

She graduated with a BA in Art Education and an MS in Urban and Multicultural Studies and taught hilarious, insightful, unfettered children for several years before having one of her own. She left her tenured position to raise her children, spending nap time drinking copious amounts of coffee and learning the Adobe Creative Suite. She was a freelance graphic designer for local small businesses and start-ups for short stint but it was around her daughter's 3rd birthday that she discovered the gloriousness of Procreate. Incomplete story lines that once lay dormant in old, rubber band bound sketchbooks transformed into fully formed works. It was exciting and she felt like a kid again.

These days she happily spends her time, while her children are at school, writing and drawing. Her books are inspired by life events that spark reflection and the desire to share lessons gleaned. They are for children and children-at-heart.

Amy lives in Brooklyn, NY with her loving husband, two awesome kids and two snuggly cats.
